Our Firm
Stacks/The Law Firm, Forster opened as the first branch office of Stacks when Bill Akhurst commenced business in Forster in December 1977. Bill has specialised in commercial/transactional work and is a Law Society Accredited Specialist in Property Law. Michael Laurence joined the office in July 1988 to develop the litigation team.
Michael is a Law Society Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury and Family Law, and practices as a litigation specialist. Stacks/The Law Firm Forster has grown to be the largest legal firm in Forster-Tuncurry, providing a highly specialised team of lawyers.
Digby Dunn specialises in Local Government, Environmental and Planning Law and holds a Masters Degree in Environmental and Local Government Law. He also specialises in compensation cases, including compulsory acquisition.
Most recently Brian Hayne & Associates, of which Brian Hayne was the Principal, merged with Stacks/the Law Firm Forster. Brian has been practicing in Forster since 1979, joining Stacks in 2003 so he could further develop his specialty interest in Wills, Estate Planning and Commercial Law.

Stacks/The Law Firm, Forster is an independent, autonomous legal practice. As a member of the Stacks/The Law Firm alliance, the firm has access to the combined knowledge and experience of 76 professional staff in 20 offices across NSW and QLD. The office also services the area outside of its immediate Forster-Tuncurry location, making use of up-to-the-minute communications technology.

Having been certified since 2003, we are proud to have obtained re-certification to the ISO9001:2008 standard for a further three years, following a recent re-certification audit by SAI Global.
