Robert Hiatt - Managing Director

Stacks/The Law Firm, Port Macquarie

Port Macquarie

Robert is a problem-solver. He focuses on strategies that resolve his clients commercial and legal issues, and that protect their interests.

Robert was admitted as solicitor in 1998 after studying law at the University of Sydney while working full-time as a law clerk at a large Sydney firm. Before this Robert completed a degree in financial management at the University of New England. He brings together legal expertise and commercial accounting knowledge to provide his clients with all they need to make informed decisions about their commercial activities and personal assets.

Robert loves beach life and surfing. He is Secretary of the Port Macquarie Surf Life Saving Club.

Robert ensures his legal advice is clear and straightforward so that his clients fully benefit from his strategies to protect their interests.

When his clients need advice on their commercial ventures, Robert advises them on the most suitable legal structure. He drafts and negotiates their commercial documentation, including partnership and business agreements, shareholder agreements, funded business succession agreements and Trusts, as well as other business agreements, such as leases and contracts.

Robert takes time to understand his clients’ aims, both professional and personal. This enables him to tailor his advice to each client’s unique situation, however complex.

Robert's experience in commercial disputes began at a major Sydney law firm where he was part of a large litigation team working on multi-million dollar cases. His expertise, particularly in handling breaches of contracts, complements his advice to clients on their corporate and commercial ventures. It enables Robert to draft contracts that reduce the risk of future misinterpretations and breaches.
