Our Firm

Stacks/The Law Firm, located in Bowral in the Southern Highlands, specialises in Business Law and provides a premium range of legal services.  We provide practical advice and pragmatic solutions to legal issues facing businesses and individuals, and operate at a standard found in firms several times larger.

Formerly Williams Oates Lawyers, a partnership between experienced sole practitioners Terry Oates and Andrew Williams in 2001, the practice purchased local firm Mark Howarth Solicitors in October 2003.

They went on to join Stacks/The Law Firm in 2003, becoming the first commercially based law firm to join the group. The firm's name was changed to Stacks/the Law Firm in June 2009.

Clayton Davis took over the running of Stacks/The Law Firm in February 2008. The Principal Solicitor, he has over 13 years legal experience, primarily in private practice but also in government. Clayton graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws in 1995, and has worked in premier firms both in Sydney and in London.

Stacks/The Law Firm, Southern Highlands is an independent, autonomous legal practice. As a member of Stacks/The Law Firm, the largest regional-based network of law practices in Australia, the firm has access to the combined knowledge and experience of 76 professional staff in 20 offices across NSW and QLD.  The office also services the area outside of its immediate Bowral location, making use of up-to-the-minute communications technology.
Our services include:

Commercial Litigation, Commercial and Corporate Law, Conveyancing and Property Law, Leasing, Debt Recovery, Estate Planning, Wills and Wealth Protection.

We understand how important it is to regularly review the quality of our legal services. Our firm continues to meet the rigorous requirements of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System standard. Having been certified since 2003, we are proud to have obtained re-certification to the ISO9001:2008 standard for a further three years, following a recent re-certification audit by SAI Global.
