Community
The community values and family-based principles of E.R. Stack, who founded Stacks/The Law Firm in 1931, endure today. We want to do more than just provide legal services to clients. Individual Stacks the Law Firm offices, and a number of lawyers in the group, are involved in their local communities, providing education sponsorships, pro bono work, supporting fundraising projects, and volunteering their time for various local initiatives. Made up of friendly and approachable people from country origins, we believe in getting involved.

With Christmas just around the corner and the exemption from Stamp Duty for First Home Purchasers on existng homes being cancelled on 31 December, 2011, the pressure is on.
At Stacks Taree, we are experiencing an influx of clients wanting to complete their sale or purchase prior to Christmas as well as First Home Purchasers wanting to cash in on the benefit of the exemption from stamp duty.
It certainly is a busy time of the year with a certain amount of uncertainty hovering when Banks are involved.

Stacks/The Law Firm Ballina was very proud to be awarded the "Professional Services" Award at the recent gala dinner put on for 400 business men and women by the Ballina Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
We subsequently received a letter from the Local Federal Member for Page, Janelle Saffin, congratulating us on the award. In part Ms Saffin wrote "Small and medium businesses form the cornerstone of commerce in regional areas such as ours. Businesses like your are generally operated by dedicated owners and partnerships like yours who contribute significantly to their local communities and communities".
We thank Ms Saffin for those kind words. We also adopt those words ourselves and repeat them to our own clients who operate local businesses. Stacks/The Law Firm Ballina is very proud to provide legal services to many local businesses particularly in the area of Employment Law. Winning the Professional Services Award would not have been possible without the great support from our local clients.

I have recently returned to sailing and am now racing a Hobie 16 every Sunday on Wallis Lake with a great bunch of people at our local sailing club. For my sins, I have now been made Secretary of the Great Lakes Sailing Club.
