What to Expect from Insurance Companies

As with any type of insurance, public liability insurance companies want to be certain that your claim is valid before they pay you compensation.

They will most likely wish to check and double-check your medical record, and possibly have you see another doctor of their choosing.  They may require other information from you about your injury, past medical records, past compensation claims, and contact details for witnesses of the accident for their investigation into your claim.

It is advisable to be wary about signing any document that the insurance company offers you without consulting a personal injury attorney, because the company may not be paying you all you are entitled to.  By signing a document, you may be forfeiting the opportunity to future claims on your injury.
