Relocation

Sometimes parents have to relocate.

The physical distance between where parents live might mean that a child is only able to live with one of his/her parents on weekdays during the school term.

The Family Law courts can intervene where a parent relocates with a child, as this can impact on the child having a substantial relationship with one parent.

It is very important that you promptly seek legal advice should you or the other parent relocate, where the relocation compromises one or other parent spending time with a child on a regular basis, including overnight during the week during school term.
