Belinda Cassidy is Special Counsel in the Stacks Goudkamp Sydney office. She has over 28 years of personal injury knowledge and experience.
Belinda was admitted as a solicitor in July 1989 and is a member of the Law Society of NSW. She is an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law.
Before joining Stacks Goudkamp, Belinda worked for 18 years as the Principal Claims Assessor of the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (formerly the Motor Accidents Authority), where she honed her skills in motor accident compensation assessment, dispute resolution and administrative law. As the Principal Claims Assessor, Belinda established and developed a highly regarded dispute resolution service for people injured in motor vehicle accidents in NSW.
As a solicitor, Belinda is decisive and expert, and can synthesise large amounts of information quickly. She is a leader who particularly enjoys mentoring and influencing others.
In addition to her legal qualifications, Belinda has an honours degree in Comparative Religion, with a keen interest in Japanese Buddhism. She has published numerous articles on personal injury and insurance law in the Law Society of NSW Journal.
Outside of work, Belinda is a member of the executive of the committees of the Council of Australasian Tribunals (COAT) at the NSW and national level. She has worked on sub-committees of the Australian Institute of Judicial Administrators (AIJA), with an interest in the future of the justice system and how technology can assist courts and tribunals. She is a recent graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a recently elected member of the board of Winifred West Schools Limited.
Belinda has one daughter, Rosie, and a dog called Oreo. She loves spending time in the country and the Orange wine region in particular. Belinda enjoys walking, having done two Coastreks, and plans to do others in the future.
