Cali is a compensation lawyer, handling claims for individuals arising from work and motor vehicle accidents, medical negligence and liability matters for individuals in New South Wales and overseas. She also handles some victim’s compensation and superannuation dispute matters. Cali is a member of the Law Society of NSW, Women Lawyers Association of NSW and Australian Lawyers Alliance.
Moving to France at the age of five, Cali spent the next 20 years abroad, where she completed her French law degree followed by a Masters in European Law, ranking first place at her university. Prior to working at Stacks, Cali gained experience drafting legal documents while working for the legal department of the European Police Office (Europol, The Hague). Next, she worked with the linguistics department of the European Court of Justice translating legal documents, applying her proficiency in French, Spanish, German and English. Upon her return to Australia, Cali studied Australian law while working as a law clerk in a personal injury law firm, Beilby Poulden Costello lawyers, then joined Stacks Goudkamp as a law clerk before being admitted as a lawyer on 28 August 2012.
With her empathetic manner, Cali is able to clearly communicate the legal system to clients who are often facing stressful and complex situations. Among her matters include a number of successful claims for former police officers who have suffered from both physical and psychological injuries. Another rewarding matter was achieving a great result for a lady who was injured while at work, then maltreated by a doctor, sadly resulting in the amputation of her leg.
Cali is driven to obtain justice and works diligently to achieve the best possible results for her clients.
Cali shows great respect towards Australia’s diversity of cultural backgrounds. Employing her language expertise and interpreters, she has provided legal advice to many non-English speaking clients.
Committed to caring for the wider community, Cali pursues her interest in human rights, international and European law outside of work, and is soon to become member of Land Care where she will be volunteering to care for public land within her local neighbourhood.
Aside from loving her job, Cali adores spending time with her family. She thrives as a wife and mother to her young son and daughter and enjoys nourishing them from the backyard veggie patch. Having spent her school years at a conservatorium studying piano, she still enjoys the odd tinkle and finds time to appreciate Sydney’s abundant musical offering. Cali holds a licence as a small aircraft pilot and is currently working on adding another language to her repertoire – Italian – both skills best practiced on her return holidays to Europe.
