Con is a solicitor in the Stacks Goudkamp office in Sydney. He was admitted as a solicitor in 1987 and also speaks Greek.
As well as being the former President of the City of Sydney Law Society, he is a member of the Law Society of NSW, the Law Society Injury Compensation Committee and the Law Society Accredited Specialist Advisory Committee.
In addition to being a solicitor, Con is an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law, a notary, a Local Court Arbitrator, a former District Court Arbitrator and a nationally accredited mediator.
Con practices all types of personal injury litigation and has done so in every jurisdiction for over 30 years. He has extensive experience, having worked previously for the Workers Compensation Independent Review Office (WIRO), the Australian Government Solicitor and other law firms, before joining Stacks Goudkamp.
Con has a genuine interest in the welfare of injured workers and a desire to achieve the best results, preferably with as little litigation as possible.
While employed by the Australian Government Solicitor in 1988-2005, Con had carriage of major litigation of behalf of the Australian government in the High Court, NSW Court of Appeal, NSW Supreme Court and Federal Court in relation to the personal injury cases brought by Australian service personnel, arising out of the British atomic tests at Maralinga and the Monte Bello Islands in the 1950s, as well as the HMAS Melbourne/Voyager disaster in 1964.
Con acted for the federal government in major industrial and commercial/building litigation and in complex toxic torts cases, including asbestos litigation. He has worked in the dust diseases area for many years and has experience with cases involving mesothelioma and asbestos related pleural disease. Con has also acted in institutional abuse cases while in private practice at Stacks Goudkamp.
Outside of work, Con loves travelling overseas with his family, reading, keeping up with current affairs and going to the theatre. He also volunteers his time at a community legal centre.
Con is a former part-time lecturer at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) law schools. He has published College of Law and Law Society papers on workers compensation, CTP and Supreme Court litigation.
