Katarina was admitted as a solicitor in April of 2011. Before joining Stacks, Katarina worked as a property solicitor, and as a document custody officer and settlement clerk. She completed her practical legal training at the Aboriginal Legal Service (NSW/ACT) in Parramatta. Katarina speaks Croatian.
Katarina has a particular interest in property law and conveyancing, which she has practiced for a number of years. She has also recently been working in wills and estates, and in certain aspects of commercial law. She enjoys negotiating better commercial outcomes for her clients and has negotiated and completed transactional matters in excess of $15 million.
Her legal experience includes running the full process of property files from pre-exchange to post-settlement and registration. She has managed off-the-plan matters and “put and call” options for developers, negotiating contract terms and drafting special conditions.
Katarina has provided advice to clients on contracts, stamp duty matters, GST and land tax. She has prepared contracts, leases, deeds, and other commercial agreements. Katarina has drafted wills, powers of attorney and enduring guardianship documentation. She is experienced in the administration of probate, and has attended court for mentions, directions and judgments.
Katarina has exceptional written and oral communication skills and an ability to converse with a range of people from different cultures and ethnicities, as well as people from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. She is well organised and is able to multitask and prioritise work in a busy environment. Katarina is highly professional and has a flexible attitude.
Outside of work, Katarina enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. She likes to travel and experience new cultures and customs. Katarina also has an interest in cooking, interior design and tennis. In the community, Katarina performs pro bono legal work and participates in charity runs for the Cancer Council.
