Rita is a paralegal with a focus on corporate and commercial law. She is currently studying for her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Psychology at Macquarie University and is a speaker of Arabic. Rita has assisted solicitors in a variety of areas of law, including corporate law, civil litigation, intellectual property, probate and estate planning, trust law and employment law.
Rita is particularly interested in the impact and challenges presented by digital disruption and economic globalisation on companies and organisations. She has an interest in civil procedure, case management and the resolution of disputes in a just and efficient manner.
Rita is a problem solver who approaches problems with lateral thinking and logical reasoning. She is a good listener and ensures that she is attentive to clients, noting their biggest concerns and doing whatever she can to alleviate them. Rita values honesty and integrity when dealing with clients.
Rita is an active volunteer and has been involved with numerous volunteer organisations and activities. This includes volunteering with Australian Refugee Volunteers, an organisation that is dedicated to organising fun activities for refugee children and families in Sydney. The program has a focus on giving back to the community, through volunteering at events such as Parkinson’s Unity Walk and Clean Up Australia.
In 2016 Rita was involved in a volunteer mentoring program, in which she helped first-year students with their transition to university. She is also involved in the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal and the annual Sydney Homeless Connect events.
Outside of work, Rita enjoys travelling, exploring new places and meeting new people. She recently undertook a short-term student exchange in Bergen, Norway, which was both an enjoyable and eye-opening experience. Rita is also an avid reader and is currently making her way through the classics. She enjoys hiking, going to the movies and socialising over food with family and friends.
