Tierah works as a solicitor in the wills and estates team at the Stacks Law Firm office in Taree. She joined Stacks shortly after being admitted as a lawyer in late 2019.
Before joining Stacks, Tierah did work experience as a paralegal with another law firm in Armidale, where she worked on criminal and civil law matters. She gained experience with a property conveyancing firm as a legal clerk for six months, where she also did some wills and estates work.
Tierah has excellent interpersonal skills and enjoys helping clients with sensitive matters, particularly helping them through times of grief. She is very organised, and is skilled at multitasking, time management and prioritisation.
In addition to studying a law degree, Tierah has also completed a criminology degree, which has helped her to develop an understanding of sociology and psychology, as well as an in-depth knowledge of the criminal justice system, its processes and procedures.
Tierah enjoys working in law. She likes the interesting work and friendly clients. She also likes being able to use her analytical and logical reasoning, and skills in drafting legal documents. She has always wanted to be a lawyer and has not had interest in pursuing any other career.
Outside of work, Tierah enjoys sewing (mainly women’s and baby apparel) and being outdoors. She also likes spending time with her family and friends in the Taree area. Tierah competed at a state and national level for middle and long distance running for many years. Although she no longer competes, she still enjoys running as an activity to help support a healthy lifestyle.
Tierah likes to be active in her local community. She was previously involved in surf lifesaving and has partaken in numerous community charity events over the years, including fundraising for the Cancer Council and Westpac Helicopter Rescue, as well as participating in the Red Cross door knock appeal.
While studying, Tierah held positions of Vice-President and President of the University of New England Law Students’ Society.
