Tim joined Stacks Law Firm in Port Macquarie in June 2011, specialising in family law, criminal law and dispute resolution. He grew up in Taree on the mid-north coast of New South Wales and enjoys the country lifestyle. Whilst completing his tertiary studies at the University of New England in Armidale, he lived on campus at St Albert’s College, where he held various positions including Senior Academic Advisor. He also worked as a tutor for the university’s School of Economics. Upon completion of his studies he joined Fatches Lawyers in Raymond Terrace as a Law Clerk and was admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of NSW in 2009 and the High Court of Australia in 2010. Tim is a member of the NSW Law Society.
Tim’s family law experience includes acting for both men and women in marriage and de-facto relationship parenting matters and property settlements. He appears regularly in the Family Court of Australia and the Federal Circuit Court of Australia.
Tim has also spent plenty of his time in the Local Court handling various criminal matters, including Prescribed Concentration of Alcohol (PCA) offences, drugs charges, driving offences, assaults, apprehended violence orders (AVOs) and licence appeals.
Tim’s dispute resolution experience includes acting in a number of debt recovery matters in the Local Court.
Outside of work, Tim is an avid rugby league fan who supports the Newcastle Knights. At present he plays rugby league for the Port Macquarie Boardriders in the local Hastings League Rugby League Competition. He also spends his leisure time cooking, fishing, golfing and taking trips to the local dog beach with his German shepherd.
